Lost in a Fantasy

It makes my laugh when I get a message from my best friend, Alaina, asking me if I’m ever going to make a post on here this week. I’ll be honest, sometimes I don’t even know what to write and a lot of the times I don’t even realize how much time has passed or even what day of the week it is. It’ll be Friday one day when I look at the day and the next I’ll think it’s Saturday when in reality it’s Sunday.

Why is it that I lose track of time? Because I start reading something and get so enthralled in it that I just can’t stop reading that I even forget to eat sometimes. Hence the username lostinafantasy. A lot of the times I just lose myself in the fantasy world of books that my mind focuses on the emotions and plots of the story as if I were in it. Is it so strange to want to lose myself to a world like that? Maybe it is for some people and maybe not for others. To me, I enjoy putting myself in the protagonist’s shoes and try to see and feel what is written in the book in my mind.

There have been many times when I finish a book that I’ll either feel anxious or sad that it’s over that I start wandering around like a lost soul wondering what to do or read next. I suffer from severe depression, but I don’t like the idea of having to take medication, so reading is my “salvation.” So until I find that next book, I feel so lost and depressed that I sometimes start to feel desperate. I have turned to reading otome sometimes to fill in the time until that book that feels right comes to me. It’s not that I don’t enjoy reading otome, which I do, but they end too quickly and the cycle begins again.

I will admit there have been many times that I thought I should write a book but the problem for me is getting it written down. All the ideas and fantasies live in my head but is not easy for me to bring it out into the world. Anyway, if I go MIA from posting something on here for a prolong period of time, it’s only because I’m deeply lost in a fantasy.

In fact, someone posted an image (below) on Facebook before that I can relate to from 1-7. My reason for not relating to 8 and 9? All of my books are digital. stagesofreader.jpg
